1) Replace ordinary incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFBs).
2) Remove yourself from junk mail/catalog lists.
3) Use an alternative to plastic, disposable water bottles.
4) Start shopping with reusable bags (BYOB).
5) Recycle, recycle, recycle.
6) Turn off the car while waiting in carpool line.
7) Adjust your thermostat.
8) Turn lights/electronics off when not in use.
9) Install an ultra-low-flush toilet or a toilet displacement device.
10) Install a low flow showerhead.
11) Buy local produce/organic when possible and go mostly organic in your lawn and garden.
12) Prevent energy leaks at home.
13) Purchase products that are made from recycled or sustainable materials.
14) Start composting.
15) Use an electric or push mower.
16) Plant trees/indigenous plants in your yard/garden.
17) Use a rain barrel.
18) Use drip irrigation systems in your garden.
19) Invest in solar energy.
20) Be an advocate:educate your friends/family – especially kids.
