Pamela Harris-Young joined the Women’s Impact Fund in 2011 after being introduced to the fund by an outstanding Charlotte civic leader, Sonja Nichols. Since joining, she has held various leadership positions, including serving on the board of directors as an At Large Member (2013-2015) and the Membership and Member Education Chair where Pamela learned what it takes to recruit and retain members. Currently, she has spent the last two years on the Governance Committee. Per Pamela, the key to understanding WIF is to get involved. As an organization, WIF must continue to engage each member and get the most out of what each member can offer.

Prior to moving to Charlotte from New Jersey, Pamela enjoyed a 30-year career in pharmaceuticals. During her career, she held positions in sales, training, marketing, and as Senior Vice President within Sales and Managed Care. These experiences enabled Pamela to transition to become a Certified Executive Coach upon moving to Charlotte 11 years ago. The move to Charlotte has enabled Pamela to spend more time exploring the Southeast. In addition to traveling around the Southeast, Pamela is an avid cruiser and typically takes a two-week cruise every 12-18 months. She has cruised the South China Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, Caribbean Sea, Adriatic Sea, and the Danube River. Her favorite cruising adventure was her time spent in Alaska; it was truly magnificent.

Summer is spent enjoying her Jersey Shore home in Cape May, New Jersey where memories are made along the oldest seashore in America with her children and grandchildren. In 2021, Pamela along with her husband Doug moved to the Lake Norman area. She hopes to see the continued growth of WIF members in the Lake Norman area and remains committed to recruiting new members because of the difference WIF membership has made in her life.
