Tamika Eubanks Spurlock views WIF as “the physical manifestation of the power of women moving together. It takes all the bumper stickers, slogans, and buttons and puts them in motion – allowing space for all women to progress and encourage those around us.” Tamika has been a part of the engine that creates this movement, a significant encourager of the members of WIF, and a catalyst for change in our community ever since she joined in 2019.  In fact, she has been active throughout her membership, spending significant time on the Grants committee.  Specifically, she was part of the Environmental subcommittee for 2020–2021, served as the Health subcommittee Co-Chair for 2021–2022, and is currently serving as the Human Services subcommittee Co-Chair. 

Based on her view of the organization and her experiential knowledge, Tamika’s advice for other WIF members is twofold.  First, she recommends, “Get involved in something based on your interests, schedule, and availability. You won’t be disappointed.” This perspective is shared by many other members, who understand the truth that there is a role for everyone within WIF, regardless of what you are passionate about or how much time and talent you have to share.  Second, she notes, “You will get out of WIF what you choose to put in.”  Like so many other areas of life, Tamika recognizes that participation in WIF seems to have a multiplier effect, often yielding greater benefits than originally anticipated.

In addition to her contributions to WIF, Tamika also participates in the greater community by sitting on the Board of Directors and fulfilling the role of Finance Chair for The Relatives (which focuses on helping children and youth find shelter and support), is a member of the Stewardship Committee for Planned Parenthood of Central Carolinas (a nonprofit that offers reproductive and sexual health care service), and is a former Mentor with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women (a global women’s entrepreneurship program).

While out and about in the Queen City, Tamika enjoys exploring and trying out new places that seem to be constantly popping up.  She notes, “It has been truly amazing watching the city grow over the years – new arts and cultural venues, shows, restaurants.  I attended an amazing 6-course meal at Leah and Louise a few weeks ago featuring Black Chefs across North and South Carolina.  We would not have seen that 10 years ago.  It has been really amazing to watch the growth.”  For this Charlotte native (born and raised!), this progress is not only exciting, but it is also a testament to the community that continues to push for better.

In addition to spending time with her husband and adult son, Tamika’s hobbies include baking and trying out new and fun recipes, reading (her favorite selections? She freely admits they are “mostly things of no actual value!”), and travel (she appreciates Charlotte’s proximity to the beaches and the mountains, and enjoys all the quaint towns to visit in between). In addition, she has a goal to visit and see a football game in all the NFL stadiums across the United States.  While a big target, she has already visited 21 of the 30 stadiums! Professionally, after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Tamika started her career at Bank of America in Sports and Events marketing (“many, many years ago,” she quips.).  She then held several positions in Enterprise Shared Services, Supply Chain Management, Global Wealth & Investment Management, Legacy Asset Servicing, the Consumer Bank, and others. Currently, she is employed at Bank of America as a Program Management Executive with responsibility for Horizontal Regulatory Engagement and Oversight, providing support and visibility for regulatory activity within Global Operations.

With more than 25 years of experience, Janet has a proven track record of leading organizations and teams in developing strategies that foster thriving communities. Her career is dedicated to the well-being of the places she serves, and the people and businesses within them, positioning her as a trusted sounding board, critical thinker, and purposeful protagonist across corporate, government, education, entrepreneurial, and civic spheres.
Janet joined Women’s Impact Fund in June 2025 to guide one of Charlotte’s most respected, women-led philanthropic organizations into its next phase of growth and impact. In partnership with the Women’s Impact Fund team, Board, Advisors, members, volunteers, and key community partners, she will continue strengthening communities by maximizing women’s leadership in philanthropy through collective giving, education, and engagement.
Inspired by her family, teams who dare greatly, and people and communities striving to be their best selves, Janet’s impactful career includes leadership roles as President and CEO of Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, President and CEO of Greater Portland Inc, and Chief Performance Officer of Greater Phoenix Economic Council. As a first-generation Filipino American, her lived experience deeply informs her professional drive to create equitable economic growth and opportunity in the metro areas she’s served.
She holds a BA in Communication Arts from the University of West Florida and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix. Janet and her husband James are proud parents to an older daughter, and a daughter and son who are twins.
