Can you provide a brief background on yourself for those who do not know you?
I’m a Bronx, NY native who has lived in Charlotte for just over 10 years now. Professionally, I’m a social worker of close to 25 years with a strong passion for supporting caregivers and communities in providing trauma-informed care.
I’m a staunch child advocate who enjoys paying the lessons of my career forward to colleagues & our next generation of practitioners. I’m a woman who loves travel, shopping, and the arts.
Most importantly though, I’m the carrier of my parents’ legacy, a proud older sister, & a really good friend.
What makes Women’s Impact Fund’s purpose and mission meaningful to you?
WIF’s mission is meaningful to me because it overlaps significantly with my own.
Creating shared spaces for individuals to connect & leverage their gifts for the benefit of the greater good is essential and is something that I will always want to support.
What energizes and motivates you? It can be anything from a quotation, a song, a person, workout routine, etc.
“To laugh often & much. To win the respect of intelligent people & the affection of children. To leave the world a bit better. To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
These are words that I live by.
What are you the most excited about for this year?
The start of a new year signals endless possibility to me. I’m most excited to see what new opportunities & adventures this year will bring.
Do you have advice for how make the most out of your Women’s Impact Fund membership?
Challenge yourself to truly engage. The collective giving element of Women’s Impact Fund is phenomenal—it is the core of what we do. Yet, immersing yourself in committee work, as well as participating in our ever-impressive array of member education and social events can further deepen your connection to the causes and community.
What is your favorite restaurant or activity in Charlotte?
Too many favorite restaurants to name! Fin & Fino, Crunkleton, and Ever Andalo are a few that stay in my rotation. I also love visiting the Harvey B. Gantt Center, both Mint Museum locations, and catching shows at the Blumenthal.
