Member Spotlight: Christiane Felts

By Kate Jostworth

Can you provide a brief background on yourself for those who do not know you?

I am a native Charlottean (very rare to find) and became a member of WIF in 2017 when I moved back to North Carolina with my husband following a few other stops along the East Coast. After serving on the Grants and Finance Committees for a few years, I have served on the Board for the past two as incoming then chair of the Finance Committee and as Treasurer. Professionally, I am a technology investor at Pamlico Capital and mom to four-year-old Blair and two-year-old Charlie.

What makes our purpose or mission meaningful to you?

Bringing together the power of collective giving and a focus on my hometown could not be more meaningful for me. The impact of one individual on an organization or a community can be great, but it cannot match what a group of thoughtful, resolute women can do together.

What energizes/ motivates you?

Being around smart, enthusiastic people who love what they do. They inspire me to be better. Of course, nothing tops the stress relief of an amazing play list on my beloved Peloton!

What are you the most excited about for the upcoming year?

I feel honored and excited to serve on the Board during WIF’s 20th anniversary year. There are so many exciting things in store for this organization this year and it is a privilege to help play a role in that.

Advice to make the most out of your Women’s Impact Fund membership?

Join a committee! It is a fantastic way to meet other fellow members and get a closer, behind-the-scenes look at how WIF operates.

What is your favorite restaurant or activity in Charlotte?

I love cheering on Charlotte sports teams, enjoying a cozy meal at my favorite restaurant Stagioni, and “scooting” or biking down the Charlotte greenways with my children.
