$40,000 to hire a reading specialist to develop a curriculum for young adult women, train and pay tutors, and provide babysitting services for BRIDGE’s Literacy Enrichment Program. This nonprofit agency is dedicated to helping high school dropouts and unemployed and underemployed citizens of Mecklenburg County obtain long-term, career-enhancing employment by providing them with career counseling and support as they complete their education.
