$60,000 to add a Physician Retention and Recruitment Specialist to focus on maintaining current volunteer commitments and recruiting new primary care physicians and specialists to the Physicians Reach Out (PRO) program. In 2016, the PRO program had 1,600 medical professionals serving 3,200 patients per year for a value of over $10 million annually in donated care and an estimated ROI of $31 for every $1 spent. Now in its 16th year, the program has grown to serving over 5,000 low-income, uninsured residents of Mecklenburg County annually with more than $30 million in donated care provided each year.
