CHILDREN’S THEATRE OF CHARLOTTE

2010
$62,000 to launch its Preschool Global Theatre Series, a series of new theatre work with a central theme of multiculturalism. Through this project, CTC forged a strong partnership with Charlotte Public Library and was able to start several new activities with them. Plus, many of the books purchased are still in circulation at the library. Following commissioning and development, the production of Brother Rabbit Spinning Free, an original play, was performed at the library, other community sites, and across the southeast. Approximately 3,400 children and their family members were able to enjoy the play during its tours. Following the grant period, an additional 25,000 children and their parents saw the play at ImaginOn or their schools.
