2007
$50,000 for Clear the Air for Kids, an educational and advocacy campaign focused on child exposure to school bus and car exhaust. The program provided air quality flags and no-idle signage to schools and has expanded to the creation of ozone bio-monitoring gardens, which provides kids hands-on engagement. The program name changed to Clean Air for Kids. They continue working to minimize children’s exposure to air pollutants. They have provided educational resources and signage to all public schools in five counties in Charlotte and reached over 1,000 students through their air quality and citizen science presentations.
