Despierta’s mission is to transform the lives of Latina youth and women through mental health and educational programs, empowering them to develop their talents and become leaders within their communities. Despierta accomplishes its mission through its programs including Mujer Despierta (supporting Latina women), Bonita Rising (supporting youth 6-12th grades), Bonita Mama (supporting adolescent mothers), and Mujer Valiant will launch soon with the goal of supporting Latina women who have experienced domestic violence. Despierta received an Impact Grant of $61,350.
