$75,000 to fund the Summer Bridge Program, which serves rising eighth and ninth graders at Kennedy Charter Public School. Students who participated in the Summer Bridge program showed higher performance outcomes than peer students who did not attend the program in the areas of grade point average, attendance, graduation rate, and lower disciplinary problems. The school moved to Johnson C. Smith University in 2014 and closed after the 2015-2016 school year. Elon Homes and Schools for Children will continue to serve foster children from their Johnson C. Smith University site.
