$25,000 to support operational and programmatic expenses. They are working towards a more sustainable organizational infrastructure like transitioning co-founder and president, Gemini Boyd, from a volunteer to a paid full-time leadership position. Other than COVID-19 Response funding, this grant along with the city grant, represent a primary portion of Project B.O.L.T.’s early stage funding to develop an operating budget. This Charlotte grassroots nonprofit organization (founded in December 2019) is committed to enhancing the quality of life for marginalized members of our community by responding to systemic inequities. Their key tenets are increasing awareness, communicating and collaborating with others and working together as one community. They believe that in order to create real change it requires a collective effort.
